That was the #1 rod when I was a kid in the early/mid '50's. Those flatheads had a sound of their own.

I was in charge of a large corvette show here in Columbia, SC years ago with the club. Everything was cool until they said NO motorcycles. I had abate bikers coming to the show that throw money around for any charity cause. I simply told the club to do it themselves.. and the wife and I resigned from them. 6 yrs later that same show is a small show that could have been a real money maker. Their loss. Hell yes bikes count.

I am going to take the sawzall and chop it 3/8" before delivery

Yeah, chopping was a lot easier (not that was ever easy) when all the glass was flat.

Those Flat heads were the best 3 main bearings on a V8 crank . But the trucks were in a class of their own a blind man could tell what kind of truck it was 1/4 mile away from the sound of the straight cut gears in the transmission Only engine I know with two of both top and bottom Radiator hoses two water pumps that also doubled as motor mounts as well as one bolt that held the water pump to the block was in the middle of the lower hose intake to water pump.

Here is my hot-rod, 1948 Allis Chalmers model C. It's a "rescue-tractor" that was seized up and I got it running again last year (and yes I have the hood for it, but I like to run "Alice" around topless!)
